Code points: 0 / 10,000. Up to 10,000 Unicode code points.

Keyboard: Use Tab to move between fields and buttons, arrow keys in the menu, and Enter or Space on buttons. You can select the result using the keyboard.

Text is changed only in this browser tab and is not sent by this tool. Copy the result before following a link or leaving this page.

Convert uppercase text to lowercase

Paste or type your text in the first field. Choose Lowercase to turn “UPPERCASE TEXT” into “uppercase text”. The result appears in the second field, ready to copy. You can also choose uppercase, title case or sentence case.

Title case and sentence case

Title case lowercases the text first and then capitalizes the first letter of each word. “THE BIG INTERVIEW” becomes “The Big Interview”. Sentence case capitalizes the first letter at the start and after a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark followed by whitespace or a quote: “GOOD MORNING. HOW ARE YOU?” becomes “Good morning. How are you?”. Abbreviations and unusual punctuation may need a manual edit.

Language and character limits

This page uses English locale rules and your browser’s Unicode support. Case changes are not always one character for one character: German ß, for example, becomes SS in uppercase. This tool does not detect names, acronyms or grammar. Review the output before using it. The input limit is 10,000 Unicode code points; a multi-code-point emoji counts as more than one.

Questions and answers

How do I change uppercase letters to lowercase?
Paste your text into the first field and choose Lowercase. The converted text appears immediately in the result field. Select Copy result to put it on your clipboard.
Can I convert lowercase text to uppercase?
Yes. Choose Uppercase from the menu. The browser applies Unicode case mapping for this page’s English locale. Some letters expand, for example ß becomes SS.
Will title case or sentence case fix names and grammar?
No. Title case uses the browser’s word boundaries; sentence case uses simple punctuation. Check names, acronyms, abbreviations and technical terms yourself.
Is my text stored?
The conversion runs in your browser. This tool does not upload or save the text you enter. Reloading or closing the tab clears it. Input is limited to 10,000 Unicode code points.
