How to use the stopwatch
Select Start when an interview or speaking exercise begins. Mark a lap at a moment you want to time, such as a change of speaker. The lap time is the duration since the last mark; total time shows when the mark happened. Pause stops the clock, and Resume carries on from the same elapsed time.
Focus the stopwatch panel to use Space for start, pause and resume, or L for a lap. Standard keyboard navigation also works on the buttons. Laps are shown newest first and limited to 100. Clear laps removes only the list; the next lap begins at the clear. Reset removes both time and laps.
Display and timing limits
The display shows hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds. This is a display format, not a promise of millisecond accuracy. Elapsed time uses the browser’s monotonic clock, so a late display update normally does not change the underlying time. Browsers may throttle updates in background tabs; the display catches up when you return. Sleep and wake behavior varies by browser. Use dedicated equipment when documented precision matters.
Privacy and recording
The stopwatch uses only memory in the open tab. It does not ask for microphone access, record audio or upload timing data. Closing or reloading the tab loses the time and laps. Recording separately and uploading a file to Spirelight later are separate actions you choose to take.
